Spotted these just outside the door of the apartment building when the niece and I got home. Am surprised that I didn't notice them yesterday.

A pagan ritual for your thoughts?

Never bothered with Valborg before because I figured it was just another excuse for the young 'uns to get drunk. However, when I read in the local paper that there would be a celebration just minutes away from the apartment, I thought that I might as well check it out.

The big niece joined me on this expedition. They were supposed to light the bonfire at 2015, so we left the house shortly before 8. When we got there, the torchlight procession had begun and we hung around for 15 minutes or so waiting for the fire to grow.

Vaccination time once again

One of the big niece's friends has chickenpox and it has apparently been making the rounds at their preschool.

Since the brother and I have never had chickenpox, we went and got vaccinated today. I actually got my first dose back in 2007, but never got around to the second one.

Until now, that is. What can I say, fear is quite the motivator.

Blank canvas

Dudie Mia sent me mini canvases and a mini easel eons ago (2008?) and I finally bought acrylic paints in January.

This particular color palette is dubbed Spring. They also have one called Chabby Chic. How's that for alliteration? Chabby chic...Chubby chic? Chubby cheek? :p I snapped a photo at the store, but it disappeared because the memory card has been acting up. :(

Worked on the niece's 1000-pc puzzle again and this time, there really were 1000 pieces.

Now I can finally let this go. :p

The snow finally started melting about two weeks ago. Looks like it was just a temporary reprieve.
