A series of unfortunate events a.k.a. Posting backlog part 2

Flashback to April 20: After impulsively purchasing 5 books, I distributed them between two paper bags and then proceeded to place an anatomy book I'd borrowed from the school library plus two free newspapers in the bags as well.

After that, I headed to Primo Ciao Ciao to order pizza to take home and then to ICA to buy some snack supplies in the form of 2 bottles of Coke Zero, Doritos, sour gummy candy, and snack packs of cheese and crackers. I added those to the two paper bags too.

Shortly after I left the store, one paper bag ripped to the point of being useless, so I moved everything to the other bag, save for the heaviest books --- Livet and Astrids Bilder --- which I just sort of hugged to my chest using one arm.

I had to struggle to get the door open at the pizzeria and was dismayed to find that the pizza box didn't come with a plastic bag or even a ribbon to make carrying it easier. "Can you manage?" the cashier inquired as he handed me the box and my reply was along the lines of "Yes, somehow."

I added the pizza to the books I was holding and began the long walk to the bus stop, stopping every now and then to alternate the loads on each arm as the arm carrying the pizza and heavy books got fatigued.

Relieved to have made it to the bus stop, I ceremoniously disposed of the ripped paper bag which I'd previously stuffed in the other bag because I couldn't find a trash can. I then sat down to wait for the bus.

When the bus finally arrived, I stood up eagerly and lifted the remaining paper bag...at which point, it also decided to give up the ghost.

So there I was with all this stuff, a teeny tiny bag and the bus about to leave me behind at any moment...

Oh, look what our Faster can do!*

Am still sick, so I'm whiling my time away by playing with the nieces' toys again.

Can't get over how good I am at connecting dots using Wikki Stix.

[* A play on "Oh, look what our baby can do!"; "Faster" is Swedish for father's sister (paternal aunt)]

It's probably just me, but...

Rouge brush for 95 and dress for 199 just does not compute.

Book sale all over again a.k.a. Posting backlog part 1

I posted about the annual nationwide book sale last March. On a visit to Coop Extra Huddinge last Monday, I discovered that they were selling books left over from the book sale at 10 apiece. Of course, I couldn't resist. I even bought another copy of Livet and would later come to regret doing so...

Behold the return of the lecture pie chart!

The last time I remember doing this was for SocSci II.

Ethics was scheduled for 1315-1730 today. Don't have anything against the subject itself, but those four hours and fifteen minutes just seemed way too daunting.

Solution? Divide the time into manageable chunks and mark your progress as you go along. I think I used to shade every fifteen minutes, but today I opted for five minute intervals. Fully shaded areas represent lectures and the areas with lines, group discussion.

And the two blank circles? They mean that we were dismissed two hours early! We were promised some yet to be e-mailed homework though, but I'm okay with that.

Oh, in case any judgy-judgy person is reading this, I took down loads of notes during the breaks from shading.

Rewarding lateness?

Was going to be ten minutes late to my first class, so I decided to hop off the train at the Central station and have breakfast at McDonald's instead.

Because I am so not a morning person, I consider breakfast out a special treat no matter how simple it is.

Am now on the bus to school.

The missing piece

Remember that 999-piece puzzle I worked on two weekends ago? Well, it has regained 1000-piece-puzzle status. Today the SIL found this piece mixed in with the pieces of another one of the big niece's puzzles.

Now, the question is: will I be compelled to actually complete this puzzle once and for all?

That's what I get for not searching through the other boxes of puzzles.

Taking a break from cheese doodles

...in favor of "corn hooks".

Hopefully the equation doesn't turn out to be
0% salt + 2% fat = blech!

My dream vehicle

I would quit med school for the chance to drive one of these.

Oh-kay, maybe I wouldn't quite go that far, but I think the Posten* mobile is über cute. Of course, the Midget pickup still reigns supreme.

Probably wouldn't be too great to get into an accident while riding either of them though.

*Posten = the postal service
